Mangalore: Naxals are in the news once again. It has been reported that there was an exchange of fire between suspected Naxals and the Anti-Naxal Force at Subrahamanya on September 2, Sunday.

It may be recalled here that the ANF team had visited a house in the area a few days ago on receiving definite information on movement of Naxals. According to ANF IGP Alok Kumar, there were at least three to four Naxals who sensing the presence of ANF had opened fire. Even the ANF opened fire and hurled grenades but the Naxals escaped in the darkness. He said no one in the ANF team was injured.

He said more forces would be brought to undertake combing operations in the area.
