Udupi :  The Kattingeri Lake  which has been renovated and given a facelift under the Chief Minister’s   Lake Renovation Plan was  inaugurated by Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon on September 2, Sunday.

The lake has been renovated at a total cost of Rs 31 lakhs and the huge quantity of silt accumulated has been removed. The dignitaries present on the occasion offered bagina to the lake.

ZP President Katapady Shanker Poojari,. Devadas Hebbar, Taluk Panchayat President, NT Rajgopal, Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Eugene D’Souza, Principal of St. Lawrence Degree College, Commodore Jerome Castelino VSM, Dean of St. Lawrence College, Moodubelle, NSS Unit and others were present.

The lake is special in the sense that it has the rock in the middle of the lake contains paintings of K.K Hebbar’s learning period.

Students of NSS of St Lawrence College, Moodubelle, planted saplings around the lake.
