Kundapur: Heavy rains that have lashed Kundapur  have left  several houses and a school building damaged on September 6, Thursday morning.

The government higher primary school at Hemmady  has suffered much damage and students were forced to attend classes in a single room. DDPI Nagendra Madhyastha, Ashok Kumar, BEO and other officials visited the school to assess the damage. Property worth  Rs 4 lakh has been damaged . The education officials   said that new rooms would be constructed to replace the old building.
