Mangalore : Former union minister B Janardhana Poojary said that the state government has taken back the 8 cases imposed on the ABVP’s activists since ABVP is a part of RSS and BJP’s student unit and this condemned.
He was speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on September 7, Friday. He also said that a Muslim girl was assaulted by the ABVP activists for not taking part in the protest organized against the coal scam. But the national papers reported that they also forced to take part and tore her sleeves and pulled her scarf and tried to assault her physically.
Even though the Supreme Court gave a verdict on the matter, but the BJP in the state has supported the bundh and insulted the courts verdict. The BJP could have stopped the bundh, but did not do so and supported the activists to close the schools by force. In turn the BJP government is filing false case against the victims and the people who oppose the incident.
The police department is acting as the puppets in the hands of BJP politicians. I appreciate the courage of assaulted Muslim girl and her supporters who registered the complaint against the assault by the ABVP activists. If BJP has any respect towards the court order, then they must take action against the activists and give an end to the disease of calling for bundh.
Speaking about the coal scam, he said that BJP is not allowing the UPA government to conduct the discussion in the parliament, since they have the fear that the discussion may reveal the hidden secrets and involvement of BJP ministers in the various scams.
Congress members like Harikrishna Bantwal, Suresh Ballal, Arun Coehlo and Kallige Tharnath Shetty were present at the press meet.
