Udupi: The foundation for the renovation of the Sri Vishwanatha Kshetra Katapady, was laid by Brahmashree Prakashananda Swamiji of Shivagiri Mutt on September 10, Monday.

Former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda who was a chief guest of the occasion, said the ideals of Sri Narayana Guru, the great philosopher saint were relevant at all times. He also emphasized the need for communal amity and harmony in the society.

On this occasion, Sadananda Gowda offered Mushti Kanike towards the renovation of the Gopura. Jayaprakash Hegde, MP of Udupi,  inaugurated the science bulletin, while Katapady Shankar Poojary, ZP President inaugurated the temple website.

MLA Lalaji R Mendon Jaya C Suvarna, President of Akhila Bharatha Billawara Union,Raghupati Bhat, Udupi MLA, Vinaykumar Sorake, former MP,  Sairam, managing trustee of Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple and others were present on the occasion.
