Mangalore : Eddie Netto, renowned Konkani writer bags the Konkani Kutam – Bahrain Award 2010 at a award ceremony held at St. Sebastian’s Church auditorium, Bendore on Aug 13, Friday.

Fr. Richard Coelho, Administrator of Fr. Muller Medical College Hospital presided over the programme and honored Mr. Netto with a shawl, fruits, and a cheque of Rs. 50,000.

Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated Konkani Kutam – Bahrain for  recognizing the achievements of Konkani writers and providing medical care for the economically weaker sections of the society.
Stephen Mascarenhas, editor-in-chief of Daijiworld Weekly read out the citation and delivered the brief introduction to Mr. Netto.

J. A. Noronha, president of Rachana was the chief guest of the occasion.
Mr. Netto expressing his gratefulness to Konkani Kutam – Bahrain for supporting his literary works said that the he is thankful to the publishers of his books and render their support in future too.
