Mangalore: Three students from Bangalore who were drowning in the seas at Panambur during a swim, have been rescued by the Lifeguards of the Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project on September 23, Sunday.
In all four students had come to the beach to make merry when three of them were caught by a rip current. The lifeguards immediately plunged into action and rescued Naveen, Sharukh and Yasser.
According to Yathish Baikampady, CEO of the project, the Lifeguards have rescued several people this season, prominently a young woman who had jumped into the seas in a bid to commit suicide.
He also said that there have been no drowning cases in Panambur beach ever since the Beach Tourism Development Project was in-charge of the Beach in October 2009.
