Mangalore : An engineering student from Madikeri met a watery grave   in a quarry pit (culvert) near Bandasale in Neermarga on September 23, Sunday.

The student who lost his life is Tejas (19) who stayed in a hostel here.  The mishap took place, when he along with four other friends had been to the culvert. Reports say Tejas had not secured the permission of the hostel warden.

The quarry had water upto 30 feet deep and  locals say villagers used to often visit the place to enjoy a swim.A case has been registered in the local police station.
