Mangalore : District in-charge Minister CT Ravi has directed the authorities concerned to register cases against officers found guilty of fund embezzlement during the implementation of Ganga Kalyana Yojana in the taluk.
Addressing a KDP review meeting at the Mangalore Taluk Panchayat Hall on September 24, Monday the minister said stern action must follow against those who fail to effectively implement schemes meant for welfare of SC STs.
When officials drew his attention to the fact that the cap on LPG which is binding even on anganavadis would hit hard the latter, the minister said the state government would see to it that LPG supply was unhindered to schools, hostels and anganavadis that serve mid day meals to students.
The minister’s attention was drawn towards the fact that only 63 out of the 228 Anganavadis in Mangalore had own buildings while the rest functioned from rented buildings. Responding to this, the minister directed MCC officials to identify lands for Anganavadis.
MCC Commissioner Harish Kumar too assured to provide necessary land.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and ZP Standing Committee President Eshwar Kateel pointed out the menace of sale of illicit liquor to which the minister directed the Excise Department to close down all unauthorized liquor shops.
