Udupi: The Udupi district unit of the Dalita Sangharsha Samithi has demanded the immediate arrest of the killers of Dalit youth Gowrish. The Samithi also staged a protest in front of the DC office on September 27 in support of the cause.

Addressing the agitators, Sunder Master, DSS leader alleged that Gowrish was summoned to the house of his alleged lover Sangeeta, a married woman, where he was killed by Sangeetha’s husband and his accomplices and the body then dumped in the river.

He alleged that the police were not evincing any interest in thoroughly probing the case wherein a young life has been lost. He also warned that the DSS would intensify its protest if the killers were not punished.

A memorandum was also submitted to the DC on the occasion. Several DSS leaders including Sriram Perdoor, Shyam Raj Birthi took part in the protest.
