Kasargod: A special team of police led by Hosadurga Circle Inspector KV Venugopal has arrested one Gopalkrishna Pandith (21) an astrologer by profession on the charges of having links with kingpins of a fake currency racket.

The arrest was made in Manipal and Pandith is said to be a close aide of the fake currency racket kingpin Moidin Haji.

The total number of arrests so far in connection with the case has reached five. It is learnt Pandith was promoting his astrology business through regular advertisements in Malayalam dailies and the kingpin of fake note racket was said to be his client.

The police came to know about Pandith from Usman of Bantwal and Chethan Kumar who were earlier arrested in connection with the case.
