Mangalore: D Purushottam, Commissioner of Customs, Mangalore has assured that the official notification with regard to the declaration of the Air Cargo Complex at the old terminal of the Mangalore Airport was likely to be issued very soon.
Speaking at a programme organized by the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Mangalore on October 4, Thursday, he while referring to cases of harassment of passengers by customs officials at airport, said grievance if any can be lodged with him or can be brought to the notice of the grievance reversal sell at the customs office
The programme included a presentation on baggage rules at the airport on arrival and departure.
On baggage rules, he said that jewelry worth Rs. 10,000 for male passengers and Rs. 20,000 for female passengers is allowed free. Valuables excluding jewelry worth up to Rs. 35,000 is allowed free of duty for passengers aged 10 and above and up to Rs. 15,000 for passengers below 10 years.
