Mangalore : In view of the safety of students, Manipal University beefed up its security by adding 10 home guards to the existing police and campus security infrastructure here on Thursday.
The university launched two patrolling four-wheelers, which will be patrolling in and around Kasturba Medical College and Manipal Institute of Technology campus round the clock. One home guard, a local policeman and one security guard attached to university will be present in the patrolling vehicle.
This initiative was taken by university authorities after a recent meeting with district administration to improve the security measures in the university campus and enforce discipline among students more effectively.
Udupi superintendent of police Borlingaiah M B after launching the patrolling vehicles said police department wants to see university students living in the campus without any fear and with more discipline.-Times of India
