Mangalore : Students of postgraduate course in Social Work from Dr. M.V. Shetty College of Social Work presented street play on malaria near the Lady Goschen Hospital on Friday.
This 30-minute play highlighted precautions that people need to take to prevent breeding of mosquitoes that transmit malaria parasite. It highlighted the need for people to make use of the malaria detection and treatment facilities available in government hospitals of Dakshina Kannada. “Students have done good ground work to present this play,” said District Malaria Officer S.B. Arun Kumar, who was among the many to witness the play.
The street play presented by the students near the hospital was the first of a series of plays they will be staging to create awareness on malaria. The students planned to conduct the street play in different parts of Mangalore.-The Hindu
