Kasargod: A Manava Sauharda Rally was organised by the District Police Department and Federation of Residents Association of Kasargod in order to promote harmony. The event organised on October 12, Friday was inaugurated by State Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan.
In his address, he urged the public to thwart the attempts made by some anti-social elements to disturb peace by raking up communal issues and hurting communal sentiments. He also said the administration plans to have CCTV cameras in strategic points to monitor any unwelcome activities.
Speakers pointed out that at least 10,000 cases of communal violence have been reported in Kasargod in the recent past.
He said efforts were under way to install as many as 200 CCTV in sensitive localities in the district within two months to monitor the movement of the people.
