Udupi: A district level workshop for Pre-University College and Degree College students ‘Kajjakotya’ organized by the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, concluded on October 17, Wednesday at the Udupi Government Girls’ PU College.

Speaking at the valedictory function, Udupi ZP Chief Katapady Shanker Poojari said the disinterest of officials has been a hindrance in the process of incorporating Tulu as an optional subject in schools. He also pointed out that the Tulu text book for students was very enlightening, educative and informative.

Umanath A Kotian, Tulu Academy President, presided over the function. Chandrahas Rai B, Registrar of Tulu Academy, Vishwanath Bairi, Principal of the PU College, Vilas Kumar Nayak, entrepreneur and others were present as chief guests.
