Mangalore: Udaya Prakashana was inaugurated by Dr Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation at a function held at Town Hall on October 23, Tuesday. The programme was inaugurated in a novel fashion by watering a plant.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Alva hoped the new publication unit would give ample scope for publication of good literature.

Six books including  “Kannadambeya Varaputra Harikrishna Punaroor’ by Salettur Faizi, ‘Tekkil Chiguru’ by Muliya Shanker Bhat, an anthology of poems ‘Bannada Hoogalu,’ ‘Bharathada Rashtrapathigalu Pradhanigalu’ by Sajipa Mohammad Nasir and “Saundaryada Guttu’ by Sharmila Dilip were released.

Moses Jayashekhar, DDPI, Abdul Khader Amchinadka entrepreneur,  Harikrishna Punaroor, former president  of the Sahitya Parishat, Staney Alvares, President of Mand Sobhann, DI Aboobakker Kairangala, Publisher and others were present on the occasion.
