Udupi:  Pratibha Award 2012 was conferred in outstanding and meritorious Koraga students at a function held at the Dr Ambedkar Bhavan auditorium, Adi Udupi under the auspices of The Udupi District Koraga Seva Abhivraddhi Sangha on October 28, Sunday. Udupi Legislator Raghupathi Bhat inaugurated the programme by garlanding the portrait of Dr BR Ambedkar.

Sabitha from Gundmi and Dinesh Kenjur of Udupi who have been successful in the NET conducted by UGC for lecturers were felicitated on the occasion. Dr Babu, the first PhD holder form the Koraga community was also honoured. Two students who passed out of SSLC examination with distinction were also felicitated Businessman and Congress leader Pramod Madhwaraj expressed his happiness over the fact that the Koraga community was now coming forward in various fields.

Mavalli Shankar, State convener of Dalitha Sangharsha Samithi, urged Koraga community members to shun inferiority complex.
