Bangalore: Nearly 14,000 houses in Bangalore’s Yelahanka, Byatarayanapura, Mahadevapura and Electronics City areas will wake up to Cauvery water on Wednesday morning.

Chief minister Jagadish Shettar will inaugurate the Cauvery phase II, stage IV project at the Jambu Savari Dinne reservoir site on the morrow, bringing to fruition a three-year wait for potable water.

Some 28,000 houses had applied for the Cauvery water connection. The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) plans to increase the number of connections in a phased manner. -DH News
