Udupi : It turned out tobe  beer day for the residents  in and around Indrali here on October 30, Tuesday  after a tempo carrying beer boxes overturned  following a tyre burst near the Sharada Kalyana Mantap in Indrali.

It is learnt, the tempo had beer bottles worth over Rs 9 lakhs while beer bottles worth Rs one lakh were broken due to the impact of the mishap. The tempo belonged to KSBCL, a liquor company in Manipal.

The accident caused traffic blockade for some time and the police as well as locals helped in shifting the beer bottles to some other  vehicle
