Udupi : The 57th Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated grandly in Udupi and Kundapur. DistricMinister Kota Srinivas Poojari hoisted the flag and  received the guard of honor.

In his address, he said  Rs 400 lakh has been provided for drinking water facilities in the district and added of the amount works worth Rs 161 lakh have already been undertaken. He said 2433 house construction have been completed under Basava housing project.  The fifth phase of Suvarna Grameen Yojana has also been approved at a cost of Rs 2,596 lakh, he informed.

District Rajyotsava awards were conferred on 25  achievers on the occasion. MLA Raghupati Bhat, DC Dr M T Reju, DySP Prabhudev Mane and others were present on the occasion.Prior to the celebrations, a procession featuring colourful tableaux as taken out.

In Kundapur : Rajyotsava was celebrated with gaiety even in Kundapur at theGandhi Maidan in the town. B Sadashiv Prabhu, Assistant Commissioner of  Kundapur hoisted the flag.
