Mangalore: Sri Usman, Proprietor of China Pataki Crackers World, Mangalore, out of his sheer love and admiration for Tulu language, has decided to distribute nearly 1.5 lakh books on Tulu script among members of the general public.
This was informed by Usman himself at a press meet at Press Club in Mangalore on November 6, Tuesday. Shivaprasad, Proprietor of Mega Media, was also present.
Usman who hails from Kasargod, has been running his China Pataki Crackers World at BB Alabi Road in Mangalore since the past 12 years. His business has brought him close to thousands of Tulu speaking people and he has decided to contribute his little bit for the cause of Tulu by distributing books on Tulu script.
The Tulu script book printed at a cost of Rs 3.5 lakhs with the co-operation of crackers companies of Shivakashi as well as local friends, will be distributed free of cost to Tuluvas at public functions.
Usman also has plans to hold various contests for children of local schools in Mangalore, post Deepavali celebrations. Some of the contests planned include Tulu literature, Tulu songs and painting contest on Tulu culture.
