Mangalore: The festival of lights is here and the city is celebrating Diwali with a joyous mood and the true festive spirit. After a hectic shopping spree for Diwali, be it new clothes or crackers, the populace is now busy with the celebrations.

The entire city wears a festive looks with shops, malls and business establishments illuminated to welcome the Festival of Lights.  People enthusiastically celebrated Diwali by lighting lamps in their courtyards signifying the warding off of darkness from light and bringing in more light, joy and happiness.

Children in the meantime, enjoyed lighting fireworks, crackers, flower pots, while elders too enjoy the same to celebrate the festival of lights.
