Mangalore : Prasad Art Gallery inaugurated Sinchana, an exhibition of works of art by B. Dayanand of Daya School of Arts, on Nov 17, Saturday.
Ramadas Shevagar, the veteran artist, inaugurated the exhibition, and said that the spirit of B. Dayanand continues to inspire him because he creates such beautiful works of art although his right hand is polio afflicted. He said that, although he has been his guru for several years, he cannot paint the ocean like B. Dayanand can.
Speaking about the displayed collection, he said that although each painting is based on the sea waves theme, each is unique from the other.
The others who spoke on the occasion were Kumble Sundar Rao, patron of Samskara Bharathi, B. N. R. Rao of Vivek Engineering College, and Rajesh Naik of Oddoor Farms.
Around 20 works based on the sea waves theme are now on display. The artist, who is now 63 years old, said that each painting is black and white, made of charcoal.
The public can view these works of art this Nov 22.
