Mangalore: The Mangalore City Corporation has temporarily suspended the license of Essel Heights which is under construction at Derebail following the recent mishap at the construction site wherein a labourer was killed and six others were  injured in mud slip. Notice has also been served on Somayaji Estates Pvt Ltd in this regard.

According to Mangalore City Corporation Commissioner Dr Harish Kumar,  the MCC would initiate further action considering the response from Somayaji Estates.

One labourer named Vardut Mondal from West Bengal had died in the mishap. It is learnt, one among the six injured labourers is in the ICU while others are recovering.

Police have also registered cases against the engineer and construction company.
