Mangalore : The sixth Rxlife BSA Hercules Cycle Rally 2012 will be held from Lady Hill Circle to Bejai Kapikad School on December 2, Sunday at 6.30 am.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Nov 28, Wednesday, organisor Giridhar Kamath said that the rally will be flagged off from Lady Hill Circle and pass through Kottara- Kuloor- Panambur Beach Road- Nandaneshwar Temple Road- NMPT Colony- Customs House Road- Kuloor- Kottara- Infosys and conclude at Bejai Kapikad School around 9 am.
He said that the Rally which started with 240 cycles in 2007 saw more than 1400 riders last year. The number may cross 1800 this year. This is not a race or competition. This is just an opportunity to ride about 20 kms and explore the suburbs of Mangalore.
The main reason for organizing event is to provide an opportunity for children to improve their riding skills and reflexes on road. For the grownups it is a nostalgic ride down the memory lane, he said.
The participants have to furnish an entry form at Rxlife. Mannagudda. The entry is free for all above 10 years. Every cycle is given an identity numbered sticker and ever rider an identity card. Three lucky riders would take home a cycle each sponsored by BSA Hercules. Many prizes and breakfast would be served at the finishing venue at Bejai Kapikad School between 9 am to 10 am.
Arrangement for the rally includes water points, orange points, Novel TVS Rangers on wheels, juice and dry fruit points, Ambulance and first aid team from KSHEMA, Cycle Rescue Vans and Pilot jeep.
The Rally is sponsored by BSA Hercules, Ideal Ice Cream, Corporation Bank, Karnataka Bank and others.
Volunteers from Youth Hostels Association of India, Team Mangalore and Rickshaw stands at Kottara and Kuloor join hands in organizing this Rally.
