Mangalore: A tiny hamlet called Barva Yeliyar Padavu  in Konaje police station limits woke up to a shocking news on December 4, Tuesday.  In the wee hours, a young man  killed his very own elder brother out of hatred and rivalry.

The deceased is Praveen D’Souza(25), while the accused  is Naveen D’Souza (21), both sons of Pedric D’Souza.The incident took place at around  4 am. Reports say Naveen allegedly hit his elder brother’s head with an iron rod while he was fast asleep, thus killing him on the spot.

The accused was immediately arrested. According to reports, the two brothers were not in good terms since childhood. That Praveen was jobless since the past six months, had further angered Naveen who worked as a driver for as school bus.

Konaje police are investigating the case.
