Mangalore : Mandd Sobhann presented its fourth global Konkani Music Awards at a glittering ceremony held at Kalaangann at Shaktinagar on December 9, Sunday.
Noted Kannada singer and music director Gurukiran and Anand Gonsalves, CEO of Heritage Jazz, Goa, were the chief guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Gurukiran appreciated the organisers for arranging a wonderful function.He presented awards to the winners. Anand Gonsalves honoured the winners. The Awards carried a cash prize of Rs 25000 each.
The Best Singer Female 2011 Award was bagged by Lavita Lobo from Mangalore for ‘Ye Raja’ song from Xetam Merer album. The Best Singer Male 2011 Award went to Butto from Odisha for ‘Mhaka Kollana’ song from Vozrah Motiam album.
Roshan D’Souza Angelore bagged the Best Music Composer 2011 Award , while Late Chafra D’Costa won Best Lyricist 2011 and Cajethan Dias (Honnavar), Bangalore the Best Music Arranger 2011. Ivan Lobo and Ye Mana Team won the Best Music Album 2011 award for his ‘Xetam Merer’ album.
A musical programme by Queenie Fernandes and Akash, Rani and Rai Kogull and a dance performance by Nach Sobhann team won the hearts of the gathering.
