Mangalore: The District Congress Minorities Cell President Moidin Bava has informed that a huge convention of the Minorities cell of the Congress has been arranged in Mangalore on December 29 with the objective of uniting minorities who are the backbone of the Congress, in view of the coming MCC and Assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters, Bava said senior Congress leaders will participate in the convention. Bava also informed that in January there will be convention of Congress minorties units of Mangalore, Kodagu and Udupi districts in Mangalore and added this convention will be presided over by Rehman Kahan,leader of the State minorities Cell of the party.
Bava pointed out on the occasion that the KJP and the JD(S) in the district were already trying to woo minorities through false assurances. He also said he would contest from Mangalore North constituency if given a chance.
Congress Minorities Cell leaders Farooq, Mohammad Badruddin, Ashraf, Naven D’Souza were also present.
