Mangalore : Mangalore City Corporation, Malabar Gold and Diamonds and Prerana Womens’ Self Help groups and Prajna Counseling Centre and jointly organized sanitation awareness drive at Town hall on Dec 11, Tuesday.
DC N Prakash inaugurated the drive and also released handout and launched eco friendly bags.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that MCC has been recognized as clean city and has been awarded; further more good work can be done with organising such kind of campaigns and drive.
Sheena Shetty, ombudsman for the implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) said that sanitation drive must be considered as prayer.
Mangaloreans must go to the shops and take cloth bag and say no to plastic bag. Every person must feel that purchasing plastic, throwing plastic and burning plastic is a sin.
