Mangalore: Former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda was in Mangalore on Saturday to face the camera for a Kannada movie ‘Chella Pilli’ in which he has agreed to play a short role. Incidentally, he is playing the role of a former chief minister in the film.
The three scenes of Gowda were shot at the City Centre Mall in Mangalore. In the film Gowda inaugurates a shop at the Mall at the hands of a small girl. The girl who actually had been kidnapped reunites with her family and the former CM spends some time with her. All the shots of the ever smiling former CM were okayed in the first take.
The film is directed by Sai Krishna and is produced under the banner Shine City productions of Sudesh Bhandary. In the lead role are Vijaya Raghavendra and Aishwarya Nag. For that touch of humour, the film has noted comedians like Naveen D Padil, Aravind Bolar, Satish Bandale, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor and Sunder Rai Mandara.
