Mangalore:   The Mangalore sub-jail was raided by a team of police officials led by ACP Kavitha on December 17, Monday night.

This is the first raid after the  under trials were shifted to the new jail building. The raiding team found a mobile phone with Rasheed Malabari who is arrested for terror links. Nearly 10 grams of ganja was  found with another under trial.

There had been complaints since long that mobile phones and other banned items were present in the prison with the under trials and the latest raid substantiated this doubt.

After the Mangalore sub-jail witnessed frequent clashes between prisoners recently, the under trials were shifted to the new jail building
