Mangalore:  Karnataka CM Yeddyurappa on a visit to Mangalore to perform a dozen engagements in and around the city on Monday, has greeted all people of Karnataka and the Coastal region as well, in a message on the eve of Raksha Bandhan Day (sisters typing safety belts on brothers wrists) which is also celebrated as Bhau Beej, Coconut Day and Samudra Puja Day. Several disabled children tied Rakhis to his wrist on Monday at a programme held in Town Hall on Aug. 23.

The CM was at Sangh Niketan taking part in a function of RSS family, on Tuesday. MP NalinKumar Kateelu and RSS members tied their Rakhis on his wrist in Gnadhinagar. Children from Roman & Catherine Blind school and also joined in the protection-seeking ritual of Raksha Bandhan CM told the press that this ritual was unique to Indian traditions and cultural ethos, symbolizing a special bond between brothers and their sisters.
