Mangalore: The DK District Committee of the Akhila Bharatha Janavadi Mahila Sanghatane and the Women’s wing of the DYFI, staged a protest in front of the DC office in Mangalore on the evening of December 29, Saturday demanding fast track courts to hear the cases of crime against women and punish the culprits at the earliest.
The organizations also demanded that the investigation into the crime against women should be done on an impartial basis however influential the persons behind the crime are.
The organizations strongly condemned the brutal gang rape of a para medical student in Delhi and expressed its grave concern over the series of rape cases reported from various parts of India including Karnataka in the recent past. It even expressed its concern over the cases of sexual abuse of minors.
The agitation was led by Sajida, District Secretary of Janavadi Mahila Sanghatane., Hemalatha, GS Nalinakshi, Padmavathi Shetty, Jayanthi Shetty, Vilasini, Vani Uchil, Vice Presidents, Sowmya, Prameela, Asha Bolar, Mallika, Saritha and Ranjitha of DYFI were participated in the protest.
