Kundapur : A young fisherman met a watery grave while swimming at Kotitheertha of Koteshwara on January 7, Monday.

The deceased has been identified as  Keshava Mogaveera of Malpe. According to reports, he had gone for a swim in the lake along with his friend Narayan and drowned in the process.

Though Narayana called for  help,  and people rushed around, they could not save Keshava. His body was fished out by fire service personnel and expert swimmers.

A case has been registered in the local police station.
