KAUP: Several passengers travelling in a Mangalore-Udupi express bus had a miraculous escape from the jaws of death after the bus met with a brake failure while passing through the Pangala bridge.

The alert driver, no sooner he realized that the brake had failed, risked his life and collided the bus with a lorry which was moving in the same direction. Eleven the lorry driver took the vehicle to the roadside before coming to a halt.
Passengers were heard stating that the bus  would have otherwise rolled of the bridge, resulting in a major accident.Local police have registered a case.
