Mangalore, Jan 10: The trade workers under the aegis of CITU organized a rally by pulling their handcarts from Bunder to DC office against bad roads and drainage problem on Jan 10, Thursday.
Addressing the protestors, B K Imthiyaz, chief secretary of Bunder Shramikara Sangha said that Bunder is a commercial center and the workers are struggling to take their vehicles from old municipal office since they are damaged badly.
He also said that the road leading next to police station, are in poor condition and the cooli workers pulling their handcarts to transport the goods feel difficult to reach their destination putting their efforts to pull from the pits. Most of the times, the workers will be injured due to bad roads.
The workers union has submitted memorandum many times to City Corporation, but no action has been taken till date. Hence they must repair the roads immediately, he said.
