Udupi : A book ‘Thochiddannu Geechidaaga’ by postal department employee Poornima Janardhan was released by noted writer and thinker Ambalpady Sripathi Acharya at a function held at Bhavani Mantap of Ambalpady Sri Janardhan Mahakali Temple under the aegis of Udupi District Writers Association and Rotary Club Malpe Kodavoor.
Presiding over the function, Acharya said books should always encourage and instill enthusiasm among writers. It is only when we think positively that good thoughts come to our mind. Literature should bind minds and hearts together, he added.
Surendra Adiga, President of Udupi District Kannada Sahitya Parishat who presided over the function, said the parishat has been encouraging young writers.
NB Vijaya Ballal, Managing Trustee of Janardhana Mahakali Temple, Prof ML Samaga, President of Karnataka Yakshagana Bayalata Academy, Vasanthi Shetty Brahmavar, District Lekhakiyara Sangha, Janardhan Kodavoor, photo journalist, were present. Writer Katyayini Kunjibettu and artist James Vas were felicitated on the occasion.
