Mangalore : JS Shenoy, Deputy General Manager of Syndicate Bank, the lead bank of the district has said that a 19.12 per cent business growth has been registered by the banking sector of the district in the second quarter of 2012-13.
He was speaking at the banking sector performance review meeting held at the ZP hall on January 17, Thursday. He said that during the period deposit growth of 22.41% and advances growth of 12.89%, has been registered with a total business growth of 19.12% which stood at Rs.34219.63 crore.
Credit Deposit Ratio of the district has showed a declining trend in the last three years from 54.60 (on 30-9-2010) to 48.83 (30-9-2012), he said. Amarnath Hegde, Lead District Chief Manager, stated that banks have surpassed yearly targets under schemes like Udyogini (for women beneficiaries), Chaithanya (scheme for backward classes), Swawalambana (for minorities) and Tribal Sub Plan (for scheduled tribes).
