Mangalore : Rotary International District 3180 will organize the 43rd District Conference ‘Shanthi Milana’ at TMA Pai International Convention Centre, Mangalore from Jan 25- 27, 2013.
Speaking at the press meet held on Jan 22, Tuesday, District Governor Rtn Dr B Devdas Rai said that Colombo, Srilanka based Industrialist and Past Rotary International Director Rtn K R Ravindran will inaugurate the conference on Jan 26, Saturday at 9.30 am, while RI President’s Special Representative in India PDG Rtn Kamal Sanghvi will be the chief guest.
He also said Kerala based eminent Management Consultant Vijay Menon will deliver the key note address in ‘Extending Hands and Building Destinies’. Bangalore based H H Dr Santhosh Kumar Guruji will deliver the guest lecture on the topic, ‘Profession- An opportunity for service in life’.
A well known humourist Gangavathi Pranesh will present ‘Humour in life’. Former labour secretary Dr PD Shenoy will deliver a guest lecture on ‘Medical Negligence: What Doctors, Patients and Hospitals should Know’.
Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman of Alvas Education Foundation will inaugurate the cultural evening on Jan 25 at 6 pm and Kannada Film Music director Guru Kiran will grace the occasion as a chief guest, he said.
He said that RI District 3180 is spread in 8 revenue districts of Karnataka viz Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Shimoga, Chickmagalur, Kodagu, Hassan, Chamarajanagar and Mysore comprising of 135 Rotary clubs and over 5000 Rotarian members. Around 3000 members are expected to participate in the conference, he said.
Chairman Conference Committee Rtn Sathish Pai welcomed the gathering.
