Udupi : The Bharatiya Kisan Sabha has thanked the Udupi district minister Kota Srinivas Poojari for responding to the longstanding demand of the farmers to entrust the rights of the Kumki land to farmers.
BV Poojari, District President of the Sangha has said though the late minister had made a promise in this regard, the efforts of Kota Srinivas Poojari has fulfilled the demand.
Satyanarayana Udupa, District General Secretary of the Sangha has said the government’s initiative to frame necessary regulations with regard to its decision has pleased the farming community.
The minister informed the visiting delegation of the Sangha that Kumki land upto five acres will be handed over to farmers without any fee, while land above that would be provided on payment of an amount which is hundred times more than the property tax.
