Belthangady: An incident in which public gave a good thrashing to a fake astrologer duo, has been reported from Maddadka near here on February 7, Thursday.

The duo namely Raghavendra alias Sridhar of Laila Kannaje and Muttappa were trapped by the public after they tried to cheat Basheer, a resident of near Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple, Odilu.

The two had been to Basheer’s residence on Tuesday and introduced them as astrologers and said that someone had done black magic to create rift between Basheer and his wife. They demanded Rs 3000 to solve the problem and even got the money after asking Basheer to pay Rs 24000 after two days.

As promised, the duo arrived on Thursday to get the balance amount when their true colour came to light.The public who gathered, gave them a good thrashing and handed them over to the police.
