Mangalore : Ivan D’Souza, KPCC Secretary has alleged that the state government had neglected the DK district while presenting the 2013 budget.
Speaking to reports at the DCC office on Saturday, he said the budget has disillusioned the people and added none of the recommendations of Deputy Speaker Yogish Bhat were taken into consideration. He also demanded the resignation of Yogish Bhat in protest against the neglect of his recommendations.
Ivan said the budge has allocated Rs 415 crores to minorities just to appease them and added Rs not even 20 per cent of the Rs 235 crore earmarked last year has reached the beneficiaries.He also said the government has not earmarked any funds for the development of the Wenlock and Ladygoschen Hospitals in Mangalore. Even the mono rail project has no mention in the budget, he said.
