Mangalore : Rufeena D’Souza, a resident of Dambel House at Ashokanagar in Mangalore has sought the help of the district administration to ensure justice to her son who is working in Qatar and not allowed by his employer to return hometown for medical treatment.
Rufeena who spoke to reporters in Mangalore said her son Conrad Rachan D’Souza had joined work at Space Trading Company in August 2011 but met with an road accident on November 2011 as informed by the employer Jerald D’Mello. Rufeena also stated that her son’s employer assured her that Conrad would be taken good care of and provided treatment. Rufeena said she later came to know through a friend of her son that his condition was critical and was made to work after getting him discharged from hospital. She alleged that she has been kept in the dark regarding her son’s health condition or if any police complaint has been lodged.
She said Conrad being her only son, the family is in great anguish not being able to know about his health condition. She hoped the administration would contact the Indian embassy in Qatar and ensure justice to her and her son.
