Mangalore : Deputy Commissioner N Prakash has expressed its displeasure over the lack of progress registered in developmental works in Naxal affected areas.
He also warned of suspension of officials failing in discharging their duties.
Speaking at the progress review meeting of interior and remote areas held at the DC office Hall on February 12, Tuesday, he said it was clear that the officials were not evincing interest in development of the remote areas. The DC pinpointed the dereliction of duty of the engineering departments and he did not want excuses but action.
He said he would send a report to the Chief Secretary if development of Naxal areas was neglected. He urged for steps to develop the Shirlalu Malekkila and Manila road and demanded a progress report within 10 days.
SP Abhishek Goel assured all co-operation of the police department towards the developmental works in Naxal affected areas. ITDP officer Sabeer Ahmed gave details on the works undertaken by his department.
Dr KN Vijayaprakash,ZP CEO said officials have left for Navoor to ensure that the local mini hydel projects resumed functioning.
The DC ordered that show cause notice be issued to abstaining officials.
