Bangalore: The Lokayukta court, has on February 13, Wednesday granted bail to former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda and his wife in a land irregularity case.
A private petition was filed against them alleging they had obtained sites through illegal allotment.
The bail was granted upon furnishing a bond of Rs 2 lakh each and surety. The Lokayukta judge also directed the two who were present for hearing against leaving the country without prior permission.
The hearing has now been postponed to March 26. Anil, the third accused in the case has already been granted bail.
The petitioner is Nagalakshmi Bai, a journalist. Earlier on January 2, the SC had ordered status quo on the construction of buildings on the BDA sites granted to Gowda and Food and Civil Supplies Minister D N Jeevaraj and stayed a Karnataka High Court order directing action against the three within three months.
