Mangalore : Police have produced before the court Mohammed Shameer Bashyar, an employee of a sea food manufacturing company based in the city, who defrauded the company to the tune of Rs 3.3 crore. Bashyar was produced before the court on February 14, Thursday and remanded to judicial custody for 15 days.
Bashyar who hailed form Ullal was arrested a few days back. He has been accused of cheating the company for which he worked by faking emails and then entering into understanding with overseas importers. Though he was earning just Rs 12000 from his company, he was leading a lavish life, had constructed a palatial bungalow, had started business in Singapore and used to frequently fly overseas along with six accomplices including another executive in the same company named His links with a Korean national Chang Lee is also investigated.
Even Bashyar’s parents are co-accused as the house is in their name. Polie have freezed Bashyar’s bank accounts and also seized five vehicles including a Nissan, Swift and Tavera from him.
