Mangalore : Western Range IGP Pratap Reddy said that the police department must be aware of national and international issues more than the local issues to prevail situation in the country.
Speaking after inaugurating the workshop on national security that was organized for district police force at City Police Commissioner office on February 19, Tuesday, he said that police force can effectively resolve local issues by educating themselves on national issues.
He also said that police departments have no direct enemies when compared to armed forces and even the total number of police who lost their lives is also more compared to the defense forces. But unfortunately, police officials are not even receive recognition like the army, he added.
Delivering the lecture, Christ University Professor Bidanda Changappa said that Karnataka witness the issues related to national security since 2000.
Pakistan ISI agents are trying to strengthen their roots in Karnataka since it has second largest population of Muslims, he said.
