Punjalakatte : A total of 27 pairs tied the knot at the fifth annual mass marriage ceremony organised by Swastik Friends Club of Punjalakatte on the occasion of its 29th anniversary. The function was held at the Kattemane grounds on February 20, Thursday under the priesthood of Krishna Bhat.

A Shankerappa, President of the State Backward Classes Commission, inaugurated the function. Babu Shetty, Vice President of Mumbai Buntara Sangha Dahisar Jogeshwari Regional Committee, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Madhu Bangarappa, State JD(S)  Youth Wing President, Padmanabha Kottari, District BJP President, B Nagaraj Shetty, JD(S) leaer and others were present. Shivanna Shetty Lingamarguttu distributed Tali to the couple, while entrepreneurs Jithendra Kottari and progressive farmer Rajesh Naik Ulipadiguttu provided incentives.

 Prior to the wedding ceremony a Dibbana was taken out from near the Sri Basaveshwara Temple upto the function venue.
