Mangalore : Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner N Prakash is now the interim administrator of the Mangalore City Corporation.

On February 21, Thursday, he took charge as administrator. The DC will continue to be the administrator until the MCC elections are held on March 7 and a new council takes charge of MCC affairs.

Speaking after taking charge, the DC said solid waste management and water issues will get priority. The administration will take steps to see that water problem does not crop up this year, the DC said.

As administrator, all decision making powers of the MCC now is with the DC. MCC Commissioner Dr Harish Kumar was also present.
